<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food and drink providing system for improving the recovery efficiency of containers for putting food and drink on while maintaining the convenience of the system. <P>SOLUTION: The food and drink providing system 1 comprises: the container (dish 10) for putting the food and drink on; a memory IC (IC tag 80) wherein information corresponding to the food and drink is written; a first carrying part 20 for mounting and carrying the tableware 10; a return part 30 for having a user return the dish 10 after having the food and drink; an information read part 50 for reading the information written in the IC tag 80; a display part 103 for displaying the contents of the information processed on the basis of the read information visibly to the user; a control part 101 for controlling the operation of the information read part, the processing of the read information and the operation of the display part 103; and a second carrying part 60 for carrying the tableware 10 returned to the return part 30.
