<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of performing preferable reduction processing for input image data. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 2 searches square patterns continuously arranged in input image data, thereby determining whether the image data are image data expanded by a most neighborhood method. The apparatus 2 uses an image reducing system of the most neighborhood method to reduce the image data expanded by the most neighborhood method, and uses an image reducing system by a linear interpolation method or a cubic interpolation method to reduce the image data expanded by an interpolation method other than the most neighborhood method. As described above, mismatch between the interpolation method in the expansion processing method and the interpolation method in the reduction processing is prevented, thereby generating a reduced image less in image deterioration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
