The mobile telephone (1) has a SIM card (2) and a receiver for receiving a mobile telephone blocking code depending on the reception of the blocking code. Both the mobile telephone and the SIM card can be blocked based on the reception of a common blocking code (5) by the receiver and processing of the blocking code by the blocking arrangement. An independent claim is also included for a method of blocking an inventive device.
