<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for generating remote control operation information which can easily form remote control operation information from the script of data broadcasting contents. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus (4, 50, 60) generates the remote control operation information from the script of the data broadcasting content. For this sake, it has a means for extracting the script which described arrangement information on a link button from an acquired BML (30), a means for specifying the arrangement position of a link button from the extracted script (31), a conversion means for converting the specified arrangement information to the remote control operation information (32), and a coding means for coding the remote control operation information (33).
