PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve the problem that a conventional coin cleaning and sterilizing apparatus requires highly technical and expensive sealing structure and process in order to prevent liquid leakage in its open/close part and the problem that handling of treated coins is largely spoiled by excessive wetting of coins with a liquid cleaning and sterilizing agent. SOLUTION: A granular cleaning medium impregnated with a liquid material having a germicidal action is prepared and used, and a structure and operation method of an apparatus for bringing the granular cleaning medium and coins into contact with each other and that of apparatus for separating both of them from each other are provided in a cleaning and sterilizing process.
