摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remotely detect from the outside the hydrogen concentration in the vessel, produced by an opaque material having airtightness at an arbitrary position, without having to add processings to the vessel. SOLUTION: In the longitudinal direction of a hydrogen detection element 2 of magnetic ribbon formed with a Pd layer or a Pd-Ag alloy layer to be expanded by the hydrogen absorption, DC magnetic field is applied by using the permanent magnet 6, and moreover, the AC magnetic field generated by the sweeping frequencies by using the pick up coil 1, and the network analyzer 3 is impressed with alternating magnetic field so as to vibrate mechanically. When the Pd layer or the Pd-Ag layer is expanded by hydrogen absorption, the strains impressed on the magnetic ribbon will vary, thus the mechanical resonance frequency of the hydrogen detection element 2 will vary. By detecting the mechanical resonance frequency that becomes the minimized frequency of the reflection coefficient of the input power, with respect to the pickup coil 1, the hydrogen concentration at the position of the hydrogen detector element 2 is measured remotely.
