PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently wipe a travelling surface by decreasing the number of replacement of wiping cloths onto a cleaner body part. SOLUTION: The self-propelled cleaner autonomously travels to suck dust on the travelling surface S to clean it. A wiping part 4 is provided on the bottom of the cleaner to wipe foreign matter existing on the surface S. The wiping part 4 is provided with a source roller 41 around which a long wiping cloth C is wound for wiping the foreign matter existing on the surface S, a cloth pressing mechanism 42 having a cloth pressing rod 421 for pressing a part of the wiping cloth C fed from the source roller 41 onto the surface S and a taking-up roller 43 for taking up the wiping cloth C pressed on the surface S by the mechanism 42.
