PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clothing dryer with a compact heat pump unit which can be arranged in a limited capacity space and permits the easy laying of an air circulation route with a drying chamber. SOLUTION: A drying function can be provided in a washing machine housing 2 with no extra space by arranging and connecting an intake connection pipe 32 and an exhaust connection pipe 33 provided in a heat pump unit 20 which compactly stores the components in a unit case 21 to a water tank 3 to be a drying chamber in a drying process by a heated-air delivery duct 13 and a moisture-absorbing air delivery duct 14 and the drying performance by the heat pump and the drying function having an energy-saving property can be provided in a clothing drier and a washing/drying machine.
