UNDER-FLOOR DIAGNOSTIC TOOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an under-floor diagnostic tool designed to monitor the deterioration under the floor without moving into an under-floor space. SOLUTION: The under-floor diagnostic tool 10 is an L-shaped piece of wood and is provided with a supporting arm 11 extending in the horizontal direction and a probe 12 hanging down from the end thereof. A plurality of notches 14 are obliquely formed in the lower side part of the probe 12 so that the length of the probe 12 can be regulated. The under-floor diagnostic tool 10 is inserted from an under-floor ventilation port 21, attached to a fabric base 20 and engaged with the under-floor ventilation port 21 with an engaging member 15 so as not to fall down inside. After several months, the under-floor diagnostic tool 10 is removed to examine the probe 12. Thereby, the degree of eating damage or decay with termites is evaluated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
