The collector (1) has an electromotive drive, a dust collection container and a cover (3). The collector comprises one or more driven wheels (7) and one non-driven, travelling passive wheel (8). Measures can be initiated for regaining free mobility of the collector when the collector detects an obstacle to its free mobility. The passive wheel is monitored for its movement and measure is initiated when the intensity of movement of passive wheel changes.
