The invention relates to a device for deploying by unwinding the safety cover for a swimming pool and to a method for the use thereof. The inventive device comprises a movable collapsible structure (7) carrying a roll (4) on which the safety cover (3) is wound and which is movable from one swimming pool (1) side to the other at a determined height with respect to the swimming pool edges and flatly foldable on the ground after being transferred to the other swimming pool (1) side in such a way that the roll (4) can be placed on the ground and the cover is enabled to entirely cover the swimming pool. Said invention can be used for swimming pools.
