<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a serial recording reservation apparatus and method for a recording and reproducing apparatus whereby a guidance for performing serial reservation can be exhibited for a user in an easily understandable way and the user can thereby simply operate the serial reservation. <P>SOLUTION: The serial recording reservation apparatus and method for the recording and reproducing apparatus includes: a program guide acquisition section 35a for acquiring a program guide transmitted by means of a broadcast wave or via a network; a program guide output processing section 36a; an individual program information output section 36b that displays channels associated with a program, program information including a broadcast time zone; a "serial reservation" selection item for performing the serial reservation, and a "registration" selection item for performing ordinary recording reservation on a screen when an optional program name of the program guide is selected and determined; and an automatic registration section 35b for automatically registering the program information as reservation information to a video recording reservation table when the "serial reservation" selection item is selected and determined. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
