PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow reproduction of audio and video synchronously through the adjustment of timing deviation by a user even if the reproduction timing is deviated between the audio and the video at an external apparatus side when the video and the audio are transmitted to the connected external apparatus via a digital interface. SOLUTION: In response to the operating mode of the main body of a digital video camera, the configuration of sub units provided in the main body is changed, dynamically switching a response with respect to a SUBUNIT_INFO command.
