PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer which enables a predetermined potential difference to be surely generated between an inspection area and a printhead. SOLUTION: An ink deposit 90 is accumulated in the inspection area 52 when a head inspection routine is repeatedly performed, and an ink deposit 92 is also accumulated around the inspection area 52 on a platen 44 when a printing processing routine is repeatedly performed. In this case, an outer peripheral groove 81 is formed around the inspection box 51, one wall 82 on the side of the inspection box 51 of walls 82 and 83 on both sides of an outer peripheral groove 81 is an almost vertical wall, a cavity 84 is formed in the middle stage of the wall 83 on the other side of the inspection box 51, and a folded part 85 which is folded back in such a manner as to be U-turned into the internal space of the outer peripheral groove 81 is formed above the cavity 84. Thus, ink is not accumulated at least on the backside 85a of the folded part 85, and both the ink deposits 90 and 92 are put into electrically disconnected states at least on the backside 85a of the folded part 85.
