PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always control a reproduction magnetic field to optimal reproduction magnetic field intensity where an error rate is minimum irrespective of a distance between a coil and an optical recording medium and/or the magnetic field sensitivity of the optical recording medium itself regarding a magnetic field control method, a storage device, a program and a computer-readable storage medium. SOLUTION: A reference offset value for increasing/decreasing reproduction magnetic filed intensity applied to an optical recording medium during reading retrial is corrected based on a correction value so that reproduction magnetic field intensity actually applied to the optical recording medium is set to optimal reproduction magnetic intensity where an error rate from the optical recording medium is less than a threshold value.
