The system has a set of packet-oriented client communication systems (CU1 - CUn) that partially assist different multimedia services, where one of the multimedia services of the client communication systems is assigned to a communication subscriber. The client communication systems are connected with each other via a peer-to-peer transmission protocol (P2P). Absence assistance units (AWU1 - AWUn) manage communication connections (KV) directed to the absent communication subscriber via the assigned multimedia service in the absence of the communication subscriber.
