<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical tag, a reader, a method, system, and program for managing the optical tag, and a recording medium, by which power reduction can be achieved. <P>SOLUTION: Only when a signal from a sensor 11-1 included when an optical tag 10 is detected, a control means 13 operates a data memory 14 and an LED emission circuit 15. Thereby, the data memory 14 and the LED emission circuit 15 are not driven when no signal is sent from the sensor 11-1.
