<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To add a power saving function to an image forming apparatus without a power saving function. <P>SOLUTION: The network adapter for use in an image forming apparatus performs processing of a packet transmitted from a network in place of the image forming apparatus when the image forming apparatus is in off-state.
