摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric substance, a piezoelectric element, a liquid discharge head using the piezoelectric element, and a method of manufacturing the piezoelectric element. <P>SOLUTION: A piezoelectric substance is characterized in that a main component of the piezoelectric substance is lead zirconate titanate having a perovskite type structure expressed by Pb(Zr<SB>x</SB>Ti<SB>1-x</SB>)O<SB>3</SB>, and an element ratio Pb/(Zr+Ti) of Pb, Zr and Ti of the piezoelectric substance is 1.05 or more, and an element ratio Zr/(Zr+Ti) of Zr and Ti is 0.2 to 0.8, and a Curie temperature Tc of the piezoelectric substance and a Curie temperature Tc<SB>0</SB>in a bulk state at an element ratio of Zr and Ti of the piezoelectric substance satisfy relation of Tc>Tc<SB>0</SB>+50&deg;C.
