PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image communication apparatus and a method thereof capable of applying presetting processing in response to a transmission opposite party to the transmission opposite party, even when receiving an iFAX document resulting from being converted from FAX communication by the ENUM technology. SOLUTION: When the image communication apparatus 100 registers a processing method corresponding to a transmission telephone number to a table storage 106, a transport protocol processor 120 accesses a DNS 30 to register control information corresponding to the registered processing method to a URI of a NAPTR resource record corresponding to the transmission telephone number. When an iFAX 130 receives a document through Internet facsimile communication and the document includes the control information, a system control unit 101 applies the processing corresponding to the control information to the document.
