PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide anα-βtype titanium alloy which has both of excellent machinability and hot workability, and can be easily manufactured. SOLUTION: Theα-βtype titanium alloy comprises, by mass%, 0.08-0.25% C, 2.0-8.5% Al, 0.1-2.5% Fe, 0.05-3.0% Cr, 0-5.0% V, while controlling a ratio [Cr]/[Fe] of a Cr content to an Fe content to 3.0 or less, 2.0-10% in total of one or moreβ-stabilizing elements selected from the group consisting of 0-5.0% Mo, 0-5.0% Ni, 0-5.0% Nb and 0-5.0% Ta, and the balance Ti with impurities.
