There is provided a user-friendly finger vein pattern input device enabling a user to feel that the user surely places his/her finger at a predetermined position. The finger vein pattern input device for individual authentication includes: a main body; a finger placing table arranged on the main body; irradiation means arranged inside the main body for irradiating the finger placed on the finger placing table; and imaging means built in the main body for imaging the finger irradiated by the light via an imaging window formed on the finger placing table. The finger placing table has an irradiation window through which the light from the irradiation means passes. In the vicinity of the imaging window and the irradiation window, there is provided a finger touch feeling section having a smooth surface distinguished from a roughly-grained surface around.
