OUTLINE MEASURING MACHINE, METHOD FOR CALCULATING GEOMETRICAL BASIC PROFILE OF OUTLINE MEASURING MACHINE AND ITS PROGRAM

An outline measuring machine which can designate calculation of geometrical basic profile by simple operation without causing operational error. The outline measuring machine comprises a measuring section (1) for measuring the outline of an article to be measured, a display (11) for displaying the measured outline of the article, and a data processing/control section (2) for processing data concerning the outline of the article measured at the measuring section and controlling each section. The data processing/controlling section (2) has a frame display function (5) for displaying a frame at a designated position of the display, a geometrical basic profile determining function (3) for calculating an adaptable geometrical basic profile from the outline in the frame, and functions (6, 8) for displaying the geometrical basic profile thus calculated.
