<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solenoid capable of reducing a cost and further preventing unexpected disengage of a spring to be provided on a tip of a plunger differently from a return spring. <P>SOLUTION: In this solenoid 10, a coupling portion 86 is continuously formed from an end of a coil spring-like return portion 82 to be used for recovering the plunger 66 when a magnetic field formed by a coil 50 is canceled. Further, a coil spring-like restriction portion 88 for canceling looseness between the plunger 66 and a rocking component 70 is continuously formed on a side opposite to the return portion 82 of the coupling portion 86. As described above, since the return portion 82 and the restriction portion 88 can be grasped as an integrated component, i.e. a spring 80, the cost can be reduced. In addition, since one end of the return portion 82 is pressed on a coupling piece 48 and the other end is pressed on an engaging pin 84, the return portion 82 is prevented from being disengaged from the plunger, once it is attached on the plunger 66.
