<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a webbing take-up device capable of reducing the size of the entire device, suppressing the power consumption, and enhancing the torque responsiveness after a current is applied. <P>SOLUTION: A gear wheel 20 concentrically arranged with a take-up shaft 16 is arranged on a webbing take-up device 10. A first worm gear 35 and a second worm gear 37 to be driven by a first drive motor 34 and a second drive motor 36 which are both small motors are engaged with the gear wheel 20. The second drive motor 36 slides downwardly when exciting a solenoid 42. In the regular webbing unwinding (in the regular take-up), only the first drive motor 34 is driven. In the forced take-up such as when predicting a head-on collision, both the first drive motor 34 and the second drive motor 36 are driven. The size of the webbing take-up device can be reduced by arranging a plurality of small motors in place of a large single motor, and changing the number of the small motors to be used according to the required torque. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
