<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage a printer so as to continue printing without replacement of an ink tank or without replenishment of ink for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The ink supply device for a printer is equipped with: an auxiliary tank 15 connected to the ink tank 14 formed integrally with the printing head 11 of the printer through a siphon 21; a large capacity tank 16 for storing the ink 26 with which the auxiliary tank 15 is filled, a level detector 30 for detecting the ink level inside the auxiliary tank 15; and a replenishing mechanism for replenishing the ink stored in the large capacity tank 16 into the auxiliary tank 15, so as to maintain the ink level inside the auxiliary tank 15 to a constant level corresponding to the result detected by the level detector 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
