<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spin valve structure, which can inhibit the development of electro-migration, while maintaining higher signal detection sensitivity. <P>SOLUTION: A pinned layer 20 has a synthetic structure, which comprises a first ferromagnetic layer 18, a coupling layer 17 and a second ferromagnetic layer 16, which are sequentially laminated from a free layer 27 side. The second ferromagnetic layer 16 has first and second ferromagnetic films 13 and 15 comprising of CoFe having a face-centered cubic structure, and an intermediate film 14 comprising Fe<SB>50</SB>Co<SB>50</SB>or Fe<SB>70</SB>Co<SB>30</SB>or the like interposed thereby. The boundary between the first and second ferromagnetic films 13 and 15 and another layer is a surface (111), and the diffusion of iron atoms or cobalt atoms or the like from the intermediate firm 14 is inhibited. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
