PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spectrum and color reproduction system in which the spectrum or color of a color image input by a color image input means can be reproduced with more fidelity. SOLUTION: A spectrum and color reproduction system comprises a data storage part for storing therein the input profile of a color image input means containing information of a corresponding relationship between a color signal output from the color image input means and a PCS (Profile Connection Space) and the output profile of a color image output means containing information of a corresponding relationship between a color signal input to the color image output means and the PCS, and a color converting means for converting the color signal output from the color image input means into the color signal input to the color image output means via the PCS selected, as an interface, between the PCS of the input profile and the PCS of the output profile, on the basis of the information of the PCS of the input profile and the information of the PCS of the output profile stored in the data storage means.
