PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal lens capable of detecting a focal point at a speed sufficient in practical use by providing a heater electrode for directly heating a liquid crystal layer in a region outside a phase modulation electrode group for performing refractive index change of the liquid crystal lens and maintaining the liquid crystal layer at a desired temperature or above and to provide an electronic device on which the liquid crystal lens is mounted. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal lens which functions as a variable focus lens and wherein two transparent substrates sandwich the liquid crystal layer, the phase modulation electrode group modulating the phase of the liquid crystal layer by being connected to a driving power source to apply modulation voltage and the heater electrode surrounding the circumference of the phase modulation electrode group and directly heating the liquid crystal layer are disposed on the surfaces on the liquid crystal layer sides of the transparent substrates, electrode taking-out parts for performing electric supply to the heater electrode are connected to the heater electrode and the resistance value of the heater electrode is formed so as to be higher than the resistance value of the electrode taking-out parts.
