PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement computations more easy of the sound velocity, taking into account the variations in the acoustic velocity, in the horizontal direction and the depth direction. SOLUTION: A sound velocity gradient computing means 14 computes the sound velocity gradient for every computation interval in the horizontal direction and the depth direction. A computational element transforming means 15 computes a sound ray path radius on the rotating coordinates adopting the direction of composite sound velocity gradient vector, as one of the coordinate axis, obtained by implementing vector-composite to the sound velocity gradient vectors in the horizontal direction and in the depth direction. A sound ray computation means 16 computes the path length increment and the propagating time increment of the sound ray on the rotational coordinates, while computing the horizontal distance increment and the depth increment of the sound ray, using the sound ray path radius computed in the computational element transforming means 15.
