PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active headrest which avoids any injury of the neck or a whiplash by actuating the elevation and/or forward inclination of the headrest at a high speed before the head is hit by the headrest, ensures the elevation, lowering and/or the forward inclination with excellent responsiveness in which the elevated headrest is naturally lowered, simplifies the structure, and reduces cost of the active headrest. SOLUTION: A driving device of the active headrest provided on a seatback consists of a plurality of means provided on a frame 1 of the seatback. Each means include: a main driving side operation unit pivotably supported by the frame and movable in the longitudinal direction of the frame; a connection operation unit provided at the center of the main driving side operation unit; and a driven side operation unit pivotably supported by an upper end of the connection operation unit.
