PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear suspension device of an automobile capable of obtaining an optimum damper lever ratio without deteriorating a damper efficiency in respective settings of a front wheel drive vehicle, a four-wheel drive vehicle, or a rear wheel drive vehicle. SOLUTION: This rear suspension device 1 of an automobile comprises suspension links 10, 12, 14, 16; a wheel supporting member 18; a damper 30 extending upward and downward of the vehicle body and mounted to the wheel supporting member on a bottom end 30b; a first damper mounting part 40 installed to the wheel supporting member and connected to the damper bottom end in such a manner that the damper extends substantially through a rotary center axis position of the rear wheel; and a second damper mounting part 42 installed to the wheel supporting member and connected to the damper bottom end in such a manner that the damper extends through a front side or a rear side in the fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle body offset from the rotary center axis position of the rear wheel.
