PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an aimed 1,2,4-oxadiazole derivative from an O-acylamidoxime compound bearing an easily hydrolyzable substituent group in a high yield by simple purification while suppressing side reactions. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the 1,2,4-oxadiazole derivative represented by general formula (II) comprises subjecting the O-acylamidoxime compound represented by general formula (I) [wherein R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each independently a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl or heterocyclic group] to a ring closure reaction in the presence of a cyclic acid anhydride.
