Armoured glass, especially for the side windows of vehicles, comprises at least one optically transparent sintered ceramic material (3). The ceramic material is aluminium oxynitride. The second layer consists of polyurethane, polyvinylbutyral, ethylenevinyl acetate, polyester, polyethylene or an acryl plastic.
