A deaeration valve for a compression bag comprising a base (2), a cover (3), and a valve element (4). A deaerating port (22) allowing the inside of the compression bag to communicate with the outside is formed in the base (2). Cover side through holes (32) led to the inside of the cover (3) are formed in the upper surface of the cover (3). The valve element (4) is sucked to the deaerating port (22) by a negative pressure inside the compression bag to close the deaerating port (22). A pressing part (33) projected to press the valve element (4) is formed on the lower surface of the cover (3). A valve element storage chamber (S) is defined by the side wall (24) and the partition wall (21) of the base (2) and the lower end of the pressing part (33) of the cover (3). At least a part of the valve element (4) is disposed in the valve element storage chamber (S) in such a free state that it is not fixed to the base (2) or the cover (3) nor does not receive energization by an elastic body so that the valve element can be vertically moved in the valve element storage chamber (S).
