<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel electrolyte battery containing a swelling solvent in which energy density and safety are greatly improved. <P>SOLUTION: The gel electrolyte battery 1 is provided with: a separator 5 placed between a cathode 2 and an anode 3; and a gel electrolyte 4 containing a swelling solvent held between the cathode 2, the anode 3 and the separator 5. The separator is made of a polyolefine porous membrane of a thickness of 5 μm or more and 15 μm or less and moreover, of a porosity of 25% or more and 60% or less, and a battery internal impedance in a range of battery temperature of 100°C or higher and 160°C or lower is made bigger than that in a room temperature. The swelling solvent contains at least one kind out of a group of ethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate, ν-butyrolactone, acetonitrile, diethylether, diethyl carbonate, 1,2-dimetoxyethane, tetrahydrofuran, sulfolane, vinylene carbonate, etc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
