<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an optical unit such as a pickup device which is highly accurately and reliably adjusted and fixed to an objective lens by using an inexpensive resin in a noncontact manner, and to provide the optical unit. <P>SOLUTION: An adhesive is arranged so that a gap is provided around a first convex part formed in a lens holder, a lens having an optical axis aligned with the forming direction of the first convex part is mounted, a second convex part is formed in the same direction as the optical axis of the lens in the first convex part and, after the tilt of the lens is adjusted by the second convex part, the lens and the lens holder are fixed by the adhesive.
