<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can prevent contamination from being transferred to the rear face of a transfer material even when a transfer means is contaminated with toner because the entire area of the transfer material is printed. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has an entire region print mode that allows the entire region of a transfer material to be printed and is operated to primarily transfer toner images on a plurality of image carriers once to an intermediate transfer body and then to secondarily transfer the toner images on the intermediate transfer body together by a secondary transfer means onto a transfer material, wherein the length of a member relating to transferring of the secondary transfer means in the conveying direction of the transfer material is longer than the sum length of the longest transfer material that can be fed to the image forming apparatus and a predetermined length. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
