PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ionic group-bearing polymer excellent in proton conductivity, especially proton conductivity under low-humidifying conditions, and swelling resistance, to provide a polyelectrolyte material made thereof, to provide a polyelectrolyte component made from the above material, to provide a membrane electrode assembly constituted of the above components, and to provide a polyelectrolyte-type fuel cell using the above composite. SOLUTION: The ionic group-bearing polymer has ionic groups each comprising a structure of the formula(A1)( wherein, G<SP>1</SP>is a substituent selected from a ketone group and a sulfone group ).
