PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the abrasion or damage of an actuating part relating to the detection of a water level and the erroneous operation of a switch, in a moisture separating device used for a plant of a steam turbine. SOLUTION: In a moisture separating device, steam discharged from the steam turbine is taken into a first container to separate the moisture in the steam. A level detector detecting a water level of separated water accumulating on the bottom of the first container. The level detector has: a float 35 elevating according to a change in water level in the container 31 communicating with the first container with a detection valve 21; a magnet 39 disposed to be capable of elevating in a guide cylinder 41 according to the elevation of the float 35; and a reed switch 43 which detects a magnetic field changed depending on the elevation of the magnet and is attached to a position where the magnet is opposed to the magnet 39 while sandwiching the guide cylinder 41 therebetween through an impact absorbing member.
