PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for painting a road surface sign evenly on a draining paved road surface using a conventional paint for the road surface sign but not a paint for an exclusive use which may be fitted to an existing heat melting type construction machine which is already in use. SOLUTION: In the painting method of the road surface sign, a guide shooter 4 is provided at at edge end of the advancing side of a paint dropping port 3 provided at the lower part of a direct flow-down type paint retaining hopper 1 of the conventional heat melting type construction machine in a manner that the guide shooter 4 is oriented in a direction reverse to an advancing direction.
