PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal panel which is applicable to a compact liquid crystal display device and a liquid crystal variable-focal length lens, and in which electric circuit components are mounted on a glass substrate even if an outside dimension is minimized. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal panel includes a first liquid crystal layer interposed between first and second substrates; a second liquid crystal layer interposed between a surface of the second substrate opposite to the first liquid crystal layer and a third substrate; and flexible substrates which supply power to the first and the second liquid crystal layers through an outside connection electrode. The liquid crystal panel is configured by: making the second substrate more excessively protrude in one direction than the first and third substrates; simultaneously making the third substrate more excessively protrude in the one direction than the first substrate; forming the outside connection electrode on the surface of the second substrate of the first substrate side, exposed by its protrusion in the one direction; and further stacking and arranging the electric circuit components on a position overlapping with the protruded third substrate on the outside connection electrode.
