<p>The present invention relates to an implantable medical device comprising a hermetically sealed housing enclosing electronic circuitry and a pre-f abricated header for receiving conducting leads and for connecting the conducting leads to the electronic circuitry. The housing includes a housing fastener part formed of metal and protruding from the housing and the header includes a header fastener part formed of metal. The housing fastener part and the header fastener part are connected such that the header is fastened to the housing, wherein the housing fastener part and the header fastener part are connected by a connecting weld at a distance from the housing. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for assembling an implantable medical device. It further relates to a pre-fabricated header and to a hermetically sealed housing for use in an implantable medical device.</p> |
