PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic encoder of wide application range for detecting deduced temperature, without having to arrange specific temperature detection elements. SOLUTION: The magnetic encoder device comprises the constant-current drive circuit 51 for driving the magnetic field detection element 4 with a constant current, and the signal processing circuit 5 for processing the signal from the magnetic field detection element 4. The signal processing circuit 5 is provided with the functions of calculating the rotation angle, in such a way that the drive voltages of at least two magnetic field detection elements 4 are measured and inputted into the signal processing circuit 5, and the temperature of the magnetic field detection elements 4 is estimated from the relation between the previously recorded drive voltage and the temperature and from the previously recorded relation between the offset value and the temperature, the offset correction value that is closest to the temperature is added to the signal obtained from the magnetic field detection element 4.
