PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal deflection circuit which can be manufactured at low cost, can also reduce power consumption and can correct M-shaped distortion, and a cathode-ray tube comprising the same. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a horizontal deflection circuit which includes a horizontal deflection coil 7, a linearity coil 8 and an S-shaped correction capacitor 9 and in which the horizontal deflection coil 7, the linearity coil 8 and the S-shaped correction capacitor 9 are connected in series, the horizontal deflection circuit comprising an M-shaped correction section 1a connected in series to the horizontal deflection coil 7, the linearity coil 8 and the S-shaped correction capacitor 9.
