PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bevel gear device, improved in durability by devising the material quality and shape of a tooth part, and using a resin-metal composite bevel gear reduced in noise in engagement of teeth. SOLUTION: The gear device includes: a resin-metal composite bevel gear 100 having a tooth part constructed so that a part in the face width direction is formed of a resin part 1 and another part in the face width direction is formed of a metal part 2; and a metal-made counterpart bevel gear 3 meshing with the above gear, wherein the pitch conical angles of the resin-metal composite bevel gear 100 and the metal-made counterpart bevel gear 3 are set to different values, and the resin part of the resin-metal composite bevel gear acts as an abut part to the counterpart bevel gear with priority. As the position of the resin part 2 of the resin-metal composite bevel gear, either the outer peripheral part side in the face width direction or the inner peripheral part side is selected by adjustment the pitch conical angle.
