PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical hydraulic fluid cooling system of a construction machine for maximally preventing damage of apparatuses by reducing an excessive heat load received to the apparatuses of a hydraulic circuit. SOLUTION: This hydraulic fluid cooling system of the construction machine has a hydraulic actuator, a hydraulic pump generating pressure oil for driving the hydraulic actuator, a directional control valve unit 30 having integrally a directional control valve for switching a flow and a flow rate of the pressure oil supplied to the hydraulic actuator from this hydraulic pump, and a hydraulic fluid cooling means for cooling a hydraulic fluid; and cools the hydraulic fluid flowing in the hydraulic circuit by the hydraulic fluid cooling means. A cooling water passage 35 for flowing cooling water for cooling the hydraulic fluid passing through the directional control valve, is arranged around a spool 33 of the directional control valve in a directional control valve unit body 31.
