PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide splittable conjugate fibers free from restrictions on shape and configuration of a polyamide component, excellent in splitting property, imparting a cloth having satisfactory performance in grinding use of industrial precision instruments which highly requires completeness of splitting. SOLUTION: The splittable conjugate fibers comprise a polyester component and the polyamide component, wherein a plurality of the polyamide components present in the polyester components in cross-sectional shape of the monofilament cut in perpendicular direction to the longitudinal direction of the fiber, and contain particles of silicon dioxide in either one of the polyester component or the polyamide component in amount of 0.05-5.0% by mass based on the mass of the fibers.
