PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which permits the improvement of power by preventing dust from advancing into the motor of the vacuum cleaner and improving the permeability of a fixed filter. SOLUTION: An inlet 11 is provided in a resin casing 12 and a mesh filter 14 and the fixed filter 15 made of a material such as a polyurethane resin are arranged behind the casing 12 and made to communicate with a discharge opening 13. A nearly cylindrical filter 18 is arranged in the casing 12 though it is not clear in the figure. Air containing dust sucked from a connected hose is sucked into the casing 12 from the inlet 11 of the casing 12 as shown by an arrow, whirls in a whirling channel 16 and is discharged to the discharge opening 13 through the mesh filter 14 and the fixed filter 15 after dust contained in the air is separated by a centrifugal force.
