<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which charging property of toner in a developing device is kept uniform and which can give stable images over a prolonged period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 comprises: an image carrier 1; the developing device 10; a developer replenishing device 200 for replenishing a developer to the developing device 10; and a developer housing container 230 which houses the developer replenished to the developing device 10, wherein the abundance ratio between toner and carrier in the developer housing container is 80:20 to 95:5, the developer housing container 230 has a flexible baggy member 231 which reduces its volume in accordance with reduction in internal pressure, and the developer satisfies a relationship of the formula (1): A≤0.01×B-0.2, wherein A is porosity obtained from the tap density of the toner; and B is fluidity (sec/50 g) in the case of a coverage of 50% of the carrier by the toner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
